Ron Myss

Ron Myss, former restaurateur, regional salesman for Stanley Tools for many years and a man of Portland.  He was married to Sandy, who still lives in the Portland area and stays in touch with many of the brothers.  Ron died at home on August 28, 1995, resting peacefully on the couch, from an apparent heart attack.

True story.  After an infamous road trip with Bob Stocks to Reno in the middle of Winter Term 1967, Bob announced to the entire house at dinner that he was planning on taking out a life insurance policy on  Ron, because he thought it would be a good investment.  You have to admire that type of heartfelt brotherly love.  Ronnie, RIP.

Chuck Sanders

Chuck was accomplished in the martial arts.  He died in Nicaragua in September 1978, in an airplane crash while working as a mercenary (CIA contractor) with fellow Ontario native Mike Echanis.  Some claim that a bomb was planted on the plane by a Sandinista rebel, however, others contend that Echanis was using a hand grenade to bomb a Sandinista camp at low level and the grenade exploded inside the aircraft, killing all on board.  The incident made international news, sparking fears of a potential Vietnam type war in Central America.  It was a prelude to the Iran-Contra Affair, which began in July 1979, when the U.S. backed Somoza government was ousted by the Sandinista Liberation Front.

John Hanley

John was a lover, not the mercenary type.  He was very social and never missed a party.  He had 20 wonderful years with wife Candi, before things somehow began to unravel.  John died from the lifelong affects of diabetes on April 27, 1999.

Gary Pearson

Gary was one of the brothers who never quite let go of the 60's.  In 1969, the night before going to take his draft induction physical, many of the brothers stayed up all night drinking with Brillo, making sure that he looked and felt his very best for the physical.  It worked, he was deemed unfit to serve and got a 4-F deferment.  The party the next day was even bigger.  Brillo remained a wonderful friend to many, however, he fought the demon rum toward the end of his life.  Died of cancer.
